This is What a Cross Between a Destiny 2 Warlock and The Elder Scrolls’ Miraak Looks Like

This is What a Cross Between a Destiny 2 Warlock and The Elder Scrolls' Miraak Looks Like

A creative Destiny 2 player has created a customized outfit to reflect the mystical power of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim character Miraak, based on the first Dragonborn’s appearance. Using Destiny 2’s multifaceted armor customization system, they’ve created an armor set that accurately reflects Miraak’s distinctive outfit.

Despite its age and the release of several new games by developer Bethesda, Skyrim still remains one of the most popular open-world games. Skyrim’s unique combination of ranged and melee combat makes it special, as does its unique take on familiar fantasy sights and sounds. Furthermore, Bethesda’s continued support for player-made mods has made it even more appealing. It’s no wonder Skyrim’s popularity continues to grow as more players immerse themselves in its world.

One such player is DestinyFashion Reddit community member BaxxBreaker, who took inspiration from the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC expansion for his latest Destiny 2 costume. This new costume from BaxxBreaker is made for a Warlock Guardian and is based on Skyrim’s first Dragonborn, Miraak.

Destiny 2 First Dragonborn Costume Parts (Warlock)

  • Head – Flayer’s Dominion Hood (Ancient Wisdom Shader)
  • Arms – Necrotic Grip Exotic (Warped Rachis Shader)
  • Chest – Cursed Arcana Robes (Warped Rachis Shader)
  • Legs – S’phtish Boots (Biochrome Oasis Shader)
  • Class Item – Cursed Arcana Bond (Biochrome Oasis Shader)

As the first Dragonborn recorded in history, Miraak is easily recognizable for his distinctive Dragon Priest mask. Unlike other Skyrim Dragon Priest masks, Miraak’s mask looks almost squid-like, with tentacle-shaped parts on the jaws. This is where BaxxBreaker used the Flayer’s Dominion Hood, a Mind Flayer-themed cosmetic ornament from the Destiny 2 Dungeons & Dragons crossover pack. Painted bronze by the Ancient Wisdom shader, this mask presents a more stylized version of Miraak’s mask, which players see when they encounter him on the island of Solstheim.

BaxxBreaker’s work was praised by players, and some even expressed a new appreciation for Skyrim due to the costume’s squid-like appearance. While Miraak’s actual Dragon Priest mask is more subtle, its stylish look hints at a connection between Miraak and the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora. It was Mora who taught Miraak to subjugate dragons to his will and inspired him to conquer the world using his dragonborn powers. Mora is often thought of as a mystical aquatic creature or a mix of squid, crab, and other creatures associated with Lovecraftian mythos and eldritch horror. For this reason, Destiny 2’s squid-face hood is a perfect match for Miraak.
