Path of Exile 2 Developer Apologizes for Support Issues

Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games has apologized for the long wait times faced by players who submitted support requests. Path of Exile 2 launched in Early Access on December 6, 2024, immediately receiving a massive influx of players, leading to server issues and a lot of backlash.

While a large number of players trying to enjoy a game might seem like a good problem for a developer to have, Path of Exile 2 had to scramble to fix a variety of issues in its first 48 hours, as over half a million people tried to log into the game’s servers. The team at GGG quickly addressed problems with key-redemption glitches and server login queues, and the developer has diligently worked to respond to internal and external feedback on technical and game balance issues with multiple hotfixes and updates.

Despite its persistent efforts, the company has apologized for the longer than usual response times to players’ support requests on the Path of Exile 2 forum, due to the overwhelming response the game has been receiving. The company cited the large number of initial players of Path of Exile 2 as a contributing factor. The post reads, “Path of Exile 2 has seen a huge number of players log in since launch, which is amazing to see! Unfortunately, such a massive influx of players has also generated an overwhelming number of support requests.” GGG has claimed that they are already hiring more staff to handle support requests and clear the backlog. The company has also requested that users do not send additional emails to inquire about the status of their initial support request, to prevent the response cycle from being disrupted further.

Path of Exile 2 Developer Takes Responsive Approach to Feedback

Grinding Gear Games added that other technical limitations to its support system were discovered after launch and that it has now “improved the capabilities of [its] tools” to better respond to the high volume of emails it receives. Along with the studio’s fast response to growing technical issues, initial player feedback on gameplay balance and structure has also been promptly worked on. Loot drops have already been revised in Path of Exile 2, as well as changes to dodge rolls, checkpoints, currency, and other aspects.

As various platforms continue to analyze **Path of Exile 2**, more relevant feedback is likely to emerge. With the developer’s rapid feedback policy and apparent openness to criticism and revisions, the game is likely to undergo significant changes before full release. Quickly improving the logistics and technical operations behind its feedback process will be a key element in implementing any changes and paving the way for the successful launch of the full game.
